I ask not to fly from the world but to be involved with the world. I am in the world but also in the presence of Jesus. I listen for His word to a broken world. He sees my brokenness and the brokenness of the world around me. I stand in God’s presence looking at Him, bringing to Him the things of the world that have filled my vision. I listen for His word. Be Thou my vision, O Lord.

The House of Bishops’ Declaration came into force on 17th November 2014, when the General Synod voted in favour of the ordination of women as bishops. The Declaration provides for Resolutions ABC parishes such as St Peter’s to pass a resolution that, subject to the approval of the Bishop of Lichfield, enables this parish to maintain its theological conviction that episcopal and priestly sacramental and pastoral ministry in this parish is exercised by males ordained by males who cannot accept the sacramental and pastoral ministry of ordained women. The PCC voted in favour of the new resolution at the meeting on Thursday 13th August and has now made an application to the Bishop of Lichfield.
